What I can offer

Wedding photography is a challenge but fun! Don’t worry, I’ve been photographing weddings professionally for the last twenty one years and have encountered all sorts of situations from spilt red wine on a wedding dress (not me!) to a best man who actually forgot the rings!

My aim is to capture the natural emotions and character of the day in a documentary style. Your wedding is unique to you and I want to provide you with a great set of photos which tell the story of your wedding day in all its detail. At the same I know how to get along with people and will guide you and your guests to help the day run as smoothly as possible. As one famous German photojournalist once said, “It is more important to click with people than to click the shutter.” Of course in reality both skills are important.

How do I prepare for each wedding?

It’s all in the planning and the more I put into it, the better the end result. I will listen to find out what’s important to you and how you want your day to run. I also want to make the most of your wedding venue(s) so I’ll plan shots I think will work and my experience means I know most of the venues in the region. At the end of the day, I’m providing a service and my reputation relies on you being happy with it.

“I want to thank you for the fantastic job you did. So many people said how refreshing it was to have a photographer around who was fun instead of pushy! I will definitely recommend you should I be asked, and who knows, if a Baby Smith makes an appearance we may need you for the Christening!”

What happens on your wedding Day?

I’m not one of those in your face photographers trying to take over on your wedding day. Instead I will blend into the background and try to capture all the natural moments in a documentary style using fresh and interesting angles. When it comes to group photographs I will step in, get everyone organised quickly (and politely) with a dash of humour and take whatever photos are requested. I know where the best light is too so your photographs will be flattering and backgrounds selected carefully.

What happens after your wedding?

After your wedding, I’ll crop and edit your images to make them look as good as possible. If you’ve chosen to have a photo book, I’ll wait for you to choose your favourites and then design your book in a modern and tasteful way to produce an appealing end product. Once you receive the book, it will be like reading a great story full of emotion and joy. I’m sure you’ll be delighted.

How do you know if I’m the right person for the job?

During the course of our initial meeting you will know if you feel comfortable with me and whether you would like me to work with you on your big day. I’m easy going and empathetic-I do actually like people! Those who book me for their special day do so knowing they are in good hands and this means one less thing to worry about.

“We have looked at all the photos and we love them, they are so brilliant and they literally capture such natural moments. We are SUPER chuffed with them so thank you.”
