Recommended Venues

Here is a list of some of my favourite wedding venues in Dorset and Hampshire. I love working at all of these venues (and others too) but these ones have so many things going for them as wedding venues.

The Italian Villa, Compton Acres

Beautiful venue with real character both inside and out, lovely ornate garden with lots of features including a huge pond plus easy access to the Japanese gardens nearby.

Christchurch Harbour Hotel

Formerly the Avonmouth Hotel now refurbished with a beautiful terrace overlooking the harbour. The Gardens and waterside location are ideal for photography and the stunning panoramic views provide the perfect backdrop to any wedding.

Rhinefield House, New Forest

A magnificent country mansion with Italian style ponds and ornamental gardens, surrounded by miles of natural forest. The blue gates at the bottom are ideal for bride and groom portraits.

Highcliffe Marriott

Nice gardens, great sea views, good beach access via cliff lift for bride and groom photos, nice garden for all photos.

Royal Bath Hotel

Great access to the beach, lovely big gardens, light lounge area.

Athelhampton House, Nr Dorchester

Outstanding 15th century manor house, lovely long drive way to entrance, ornate gardens, 30 pyramid shaped yew trees give a very distinctive look. Lots of scope for creative wedding photographs.

Lulworth Castle

Splendid exterior, large area for civil ceremonies with plenty of light, a venue to give your wedding a real sense of occasion.

Highcliffe Castle

Beautiful inside and out. Plenty of indoor light for the civil ceremony, useful steps for group photos, ornate gardens, good beach access.

Harbour Heights, Poole

Magnificent views over the Harbour, light interior, wonderful terrace, space for family photos on the steps and garden.

Sandbanks Hotel, Poole

Excellent beach access, very summery feel, drinks on the terrace at the water’s edge.

Haven Hotel, Poole

Private beach, Spectacular views over the harbour and Brownsea island, three sea facing restaurants.
