With Christmas not far off, it got me thinking of Christmas weddings I’ve photographed in the past. There’s no doubt that churches, hotels, in fact any venue at this time of year look really nice. Look at this picture of a local church I worked at a couple of years ago. The altar just looks so much more attractive than usual.
Weddings at this time of year are, for obvious reasons, not that popular as it’s cold and the light is poor etc but to me and no doubt others, there’s always something special about a Christmas wedding. The mulled wine, the log fires, the gold and red hues of the decorations and nicely lit Christmas trees make any wedding in the month of December look and feel really special. Not only do Christmas weddings look nice;they feel nice too as there’s that feel of holiday togetherness at Christmas which can’t be matched.
Bridesmaids look fantastic in bright red dresses which can help to make skin tones look warmer.
And if you are desperate for a ‘white’ wedding, there’s always fake snow!
All this has got me in the mood for a Christmas wedding so if you’re thinking of getting married at Christmas, don’t hesitate. It will definitely feel extra special!
